Let’s refresh some theory:
Rhythm language is used to represent rhythmic patterns in music. The advantage is that consistent syllables are matched with specific note values, making recognition and performance more intuitive. In music education, these rhythm patterns are practiced by clapping and speaking the rhythm syllables.
In most cases, the basic metre is the quarter note. In the rhythm language, the syllable “ta” corresponds to the quarter note. There are further subdivisions for the eighth note “ta-te” and for the sixteenth note “ta-ga-te-ge”.
